J. Scott Thompson to Join Independence Contract Drilling, Inc. as Senior Vice President, Human Resources & Administration

HOUSTON, Oct. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Independence Contract Drilling, Inc. (the "Company") (NYSE: ICD) today announced the appointment of J. Scott Thompson as Senior Vice President, Human Resources & Administration, with the responsibility for the planning and execution of human capital needs around ICD's expansion. 

Mr. Thompson brings more than 20 years of industry experience in the energy sector and human resources, with specific expertise in orchestrating personnel and establishing internal infrastructure for growth.   Mr. Thompson will have a senior leadership role in the execution of ICD's goal to aggressively increase its fleet size and operations over the next several years.

Prior to joining ICD, Mr. Thompson served as the Director of Learning and Organizational Development, Strategy and Compliance at Noble Energy from 2012 to 2014, and as Vice President of Operations at a subsidiary of Carbo Ceramics from 2009 through 2012.  Prior to this time, Mr. Thompson had positions of increasing responsibility in human resources and administration at Schlumberger, Hanover and Natco Group.
